Most missionaries have never received any training or orientation to the challenging role of leading a team of other missionaries. Yet mission organizations continually emphasize the importance of working on teams. In order to have effective ministry teams, we need to have capable team leaders. This 5-week course is part of the SEND U's leadership development curriculum for mission team leaders. It is primarily designed for new team leaders to help them understand their leadership role and how they can develop their capacity to lead their team. Participants will learn about the essential tasks of a team leader, and what character traits and skills a team leader needs to develop in order to accomplish those priority tasks. Participants will also learn how to develop an outcome-based job description for themselves. The final week of the course will focus on what team leaders can do to grow in their leadership capacity.
